The Katy Area Democrats is an organization
whose purpose is to promote, support, and serve the Democrats of the
Katy area. We believe that the Democratic Party needs to continue its
historic role as a political party that promotes social justice and
the needs of all people. As a club, we try to keep the Katy area community
informed of the Democratic Party and its principles. We are open to
all people who are interested in helping to forward our goals.
Our August meeting will be August 17th , 7:00pm at 1707 Briarchester. Our guest speaker is Susan Bankston who is a fifth generation Texan and a third generation Democrat. She wrote for the Ft. Bend Star for 15 years doing liberal political commentary in Tom DeLay's home district. Amazingly, she survived. She now writes for her non-blog "Juanita Jeans", a fictional beauty shop in Richmond, Texas. She will be speaking on the far right's obsession on things nobody else cares about. Gordon Quan candidate for County Judge and Ann Harris Bennett candidate for County Clerk will be there. Also, we are preparing baskets of school supplies for King Elementary and ask everyone to participate with school supplies or money for us to purchase supplies. Our baskets will be on display for you to add to or help with the expense.
Everyone is welcome. If you have any questions, please call Pat 281-647-0986.
